Women's Ministry
Ministry Mission Statement

The purpose of the Women's Ministry is to support women in their relationship with God so that through spiritual friendships, mentoring, modeling, and teaching one another, we might experience the freedom to become all that God intends us to be. You are invited to participate in the various expressions of this important ministry.

Chapelwood hosts the Flavors of Summer for women from all area churches

Beginning Tuesday, June 17, and continuing each week through July 29, Chapelwood will host a gathering for women of all churches and ministries in Houston. The theme, The Flavors of Summer, is intended to convey diversity and variety in our styles and types (think banana split) that combine for a wonderful taste ofthe kingdom of God.  Each week will feature a different teacher from seven churches/ministries in the west Houston area. Through sharing ideas and hearing from one another, we hope that God’s heart for our city will be revealed.

The speakers include Chapelwood’s Maude Dawson, Patti Hatton and Laura Kates, both from Second Baptist, Janie Putman from St. Martin’s Episcopal, Kathy Phillips of Bethel Church of Houston, Marie Noack of the New Beginnings House of Prayer and Laurie Dodds of Houston’s First Baptist. Each is invited to share their heart for ministry and spiritual direction at this time in their lives. They, in turn, are inviting women from their churches and sphere of influence to join us for any or all of the weekly meetings.

Women from all of our worship communities are needed to help welcome each speaker and her friends. We hope to extend warm and inviting hospitality -- to embody God’s grace as we receive it to those who need. Won’t you consider including the“Flavors of Summer” on your plate in June and July?
