Worship is singing, it is praying, it is listening to a sermon, it is any action directing our love toward God. Worship is a verb. It is not something you watch, it is something that you do. Over and over the Bible calls us to worship. It is not just calling us to a place, it is calling us to an action. What God is asking from you is to give yourself to God, recognize that God is worthy of your praise, and then actually offer your praise. You see God is not asking you to worship if you like the music, or if you "feel like it." God is calling you to worship because God deserves it and our love for God needs to be expressed. At Chapelwood, we provide worship experiences of many kinds, so whether it is Saturday or Sunday, late or early, we stand ready to welcome you. With seven worship communities hosting eleven different worship services each week, we have a service that's just right for you.
Worship is a command. In Matthew 4:10 Jesus says, “Worship the Lord your God and serve God only.
Worship is a duty. Hebrews 10:25 tells us not to neglect our gathering together to worship, but to encourage one another to come and worship.
Worship is our invitation into the presence of God. In Matthew 22 Jesus tells us that God has prepared a feast for the Son and his Bride (that’s us, the Church) and invites everyone to come.
Worship is our joy! Psalm 122:1 says very simply and clearly, “I was glad when they said to me, let’s go to the house of the Lord!
We are the family of God. Ephesians 2:19 tells us that we are joined with the saints (each other) and members of God’s family!
We are the gathered Body of Christ. In 1 Corinthian’s 12 Paul tells us that we are all together Christ’s body and each of us is a part of it.
