This service incorporates elements of a traditional Methodist service in a warm and inviting way – some liturgy, some responsive reading, hymns, scripture, and more. The music is provided by our 70-member adult choir, accompanied by piano or the magnificent Sanctuary organ. If you’ve never attended Chapelwood before, here are a few things that might be helpful to know before you arrive. This service begins at 11:10 a.m. and lasts about an hour. There’s coffee in the hallway, and we kindly ask that you finish it before entering the Sanctuary. Feel free to dress in a way that you’re comfortable – you’ll see a wide variety in clothing. Men might choose to wear a sports coat, suit, or short-sleeved shirt, while women usually wear skirts/dresses or slacks. Kids? Dresses, pants, shorts, or whatever. Speaking of kids, the Traditional service has a Children's sermon where all kids who want to can go to the front of the Sanctuary at the appointed time to hear a message geared directly to them from our Children's Pastor.
The ushers will hand you a bulletin and help you find a seat if needed. Don’t worry – you won’t be singled out. We know that some people prefer to take their time deciding if a church is right for them, and we respect that.
