A Community of Emerging Generations

To connect the unconnected to an accepting community, so that they can experience the grace of Christ through authentic relationships, genuine worship, and selfless service.

Our Purpose:
The early church met together in the book of Acts for a common purpose. To break bread together, to pray, for fellowship, and to learn about God. (Acts 2:42) They looked to each other's needs as they gathered in fellowship. One image that stands out from this picture of the church is that of a table. Early believers shared their worship, their needs and their meals around a table as they broke bread together.

The young adult ministry team at Chapelwood wants to create an environment where all who come can find their place around the table, and especially where they can hear about the love of Jesus, about God's grace, and about the place already prepared for them in their Father's house.

From this beautiful picture of the 1st century church in Acts comes the practices of “The Table” Worship, community, growth, and outreach.
Worship:

To celebrate and glorify God continuously in an intimate personal relationship. We often hear the word worship and we first think of corporate singing. Every week we direct our hearts towards God through modern worship music in a casual atmosphere.

However, there is so much more to worship. You may also see us worshipping God as a community with hammers at a Habitat for Humanity House, by an artist painting during corporate singing, or in our prayers. We offer ourselves daily as living sacrifices making all of life an act of worship.

Community:

The word community is continuously used in our culture. It’s on billboards, Internet servers, and job applications. The desire to connect with other people is the strongest in our hearts. We were created to be in rich meaningful relationships with other people.

God has created each of us to exist together in authentic Biblical community, which is often sacrificed in our fast paced world. It cannot be forced or manufactured, but happens over time. We strive to be authentic with each other in our relationships as we travel through the highs and lows of life. We share our lives together as a group of friends.

Growth:

Growing in our relationship with God is essential in personal spiritual maturity and the life of the community. We seek to know God by searching the Scriptures and asking questions.

We bring real life questions and real life answers to the challenges of life for discussion every week. Growth may happen in a Bible Study, hearing the Word taught, in a small group, or in personal study.

Outreach:

We strive to share God’s love with other people. Our desire is to equip and encourage others to go out into the city and the world sharing God’s love in a practical way.

This may happen by serving others in a service project, a mission trip, or a conversation. We desire to be a culturally diverse community that welcomes everyone with the love of God.
