During the Advent and Christmas season, we are surrounded by sparkling decorations and cheerful music. It seems as if everyone is caught up in the joyful spirit of Christmas. For many of us though, the holiday can be difficult, sad, and lonely.
The Service of the Longest Night is held on the Sunday evening closest to the longest night of the year. The "longest night" has become an expression for the spiritual journey of grief and loss. Our time together will be especially appropriate for those who have experienced a significant loss this past year. In this time of worship, you are invited to a quiet refuge of prayer, music, remembrance, and Holy Communion. We will acknowledge our losses and ponder the everlasting hope that shines like a light in the darkness.
We are asking people who wish to attend the service to pre-register by clicking the button at the top of this page. We have limited capacity so that we can maintain social distance between groups. We ask that everyone attending the service wears a mask all the time they are in the church.
This service will also be live streamed at live.centerforchristianspirituality.org
