Class Overview
When you hear the word “prophet” what image comes to mind? An old, gray-haired man with a scraggly beard ranting and raving about the end of the world? If so, you are not alone. This is how many people think about the Old Testament Prophets. They dismiss the prophets and assume they have nothing to say to us in the modern world.
That could not be more wrong. Instead of crazy persons, the Prophets were savvy political operators, deep thinkers, and sharp social observers. With laser focus, they preached against the real, deep-seated problems of their world and time. As such, the Prophets still have much to teach us. They proclaim a different, counter-cultural path: The Way of God.
