Through singing, dancing and acting, children will learn various fundamentals of musical theatre, including auditioning, performing a monologue, improv, singing a solo, Broadway Jazz 101 and more. Classes are designed to teach beginner musical theatre to children of all levels of development, ability and experience ~ whether your child has been performing on stage for years or this is a new adventure for them. Our Spotlight Theatre Project instructors will ensure each student feels supported, challenged and loved. There will be a show at the end of the semester (on Saturday, May 7) where the children will perform a showcase of rehearsed pieces for friends and family.
Classes will meet on Wednesdays in Williams 101-102 at Chapelwood UMC - between Entrances 7 and 8 in back of the church. There will be a room change on March 9, due to Chapelwood's Spring Thing Market. No classes on March 16 (Spring Break). Cost per student is $280 for 14 classes. If your child wishes to be in the final show on May 7, an additional $50 production fee is required. Class times and ages are as follows:
Class 1: 3:00-4:00 p.m. for ages 4-6
Class 2: 4:00-5:00 p.m. for ages 5-6 / K-1st grade
Class 3: 4:30-5:30 p.m. for ages 7-10
