Angela loves working in Children’s Ministries because she deeply believes in the powerful partnership between the church and families to develop the faith of our next generation. She finds it a joyful privilege to walk alongside children as they learn about who Jesus is and how to live for Him. Celebrating her 32nd year in professional ministry, Angela has served churches in the Carolinas and spent 23 years at Grace Presbyterian before joining Chapelwood. A wholehearted Carolina girl, Angela grew up in Charlotte, NC, and completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in South Carolina. She is a RABID Clemson Tiger fan and believes college football is life. Angela and her husband Robby have four amazing young adult children in their 20s and are proud grandparents to a Poodle, a German Shorthaired Pointer, and a Golden Retriever. Empty nesting has given her time to explore new hobbies such as gardening, needlepoint, monogramming, interior design, and playing mahjong. Angela is also obsessed with Christmas and loves decorating four Christmas trees in her home. She cherishes the opportunity to blend her love for family and festive traditions with her passion for nurturing the faith of the next generation.

What a privilege it is for Courtney to walk with our third graders into the beauty of scripture to gain a foundational understanding of how the bible is one big story that points to Jesus.  She desires to equip both parents and kids with tools to approach God’s word with curiosity, hunger and excitement.  Courtney has served for over a decade alongside her husband, Joseph, in next gen ministries and is deeply passionate about discipling the next generation to know and love Jesus.  Courtney grew up as a pastor’s kid in west Texas, before moving across the country to Kentucky to pursue both her Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Asbury University.  Courtney and her husband have two beautifully inquisitive children, Shiloh & Micah and one extraordinarily affectionate dog named Goose. When Courtney isn’t shuttling kids from gymnastics or soccer practice, she loves being creative, spending time outdoors, getting cozy with a cup of chai tea, and celebrating her people well.  Courtney’s greatest desire is to give the next generation a glimpse into the goodness of God that will be the catalyst of a life-long walk with Him.

Alyssa loves working in children’s ministry because of the incredible growth she has the opportunity to witness. She enjoys not only watching the kids grow up but also seeing the continuous growth and depth of their understanding of Jesus and His love for them. Alyssa feels blessed with the opportunity to teach children and learn from them as well.

Originally from a small town in Missouri, Alyssa moved to Texas in elementary school. She is currently studying Religious Studies with a minor in Mass Communication at Texas State University. As a student leader in her college ministry, Chi Alpha, Alyssa also volunteers with the children and youth ministry at Radical Church. This is her second year officially working in ministry. Prior to this, she danced competitively for thirteen years and was part of her high school team. Her favorite season is VBS, and she enjoys cleaning and organizing as her go-to hobbies. Alyssa loves playing beach volleyball, and her favorite artist is Josiah Queen. A fun fact about her is that she once got locked in a coffee shop during a Bible study.

Genesis is incredibly grateful for the season God has called her to and feels honored to serve, minister to, and work alongside children, teens, and young adults as the Camp Chapelwood Director. Her household includes a malti-poo named Powder Puff and three cats, Coral, Cortana, and Iroh. A spin instructor since 2010, she balances her love for an organized and clean environment with the fun and flexibility her ADHD family brings. Genesis enjoys crafting and traveling, and prefers savoring her coffee at home in her Ember cup. A true fan of Mexican food, she could eat it 24/7 and never tire of it. Her favorite indulgent snack is Flaming Hot Cheetos dipped in cream cheese. Her life verse is Jeremiah 33:3: "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."
