WELCOME TO ELEMENTARY
tHIRD gRADE
In Third Grade our focus is aimed at Biblical teachings through the Old and New Testaments. By weaving together John Wesley's theology, music, small group discussions, Bible stories, and creative activities we create a spiritual environment rooted in wisdom, faith, and friendship.
By utilizing insightful core truths like identity, connection, restoration, and compassion children are able to grow in their faith by loving God, loving life, and loving others.
Sunday School
On Sunday mornings Third Grade partners with Orange's faith based curriculum, 252 Kids. However, Chapelwood Children modifies activities that coach children in their Biblical studies. By the end of their Third Grade year children are able to locate and read scripture as well as recite all 66 Books of the Bible!
Third Grade is located in LC230-231. These classrooms are located above the administrative offices of the Chapelwood School for Young Children. These classrooms can be reached via the hallway located on the second floor of the Children's Building or the stairwell near the day school offices. To begin the 9:45 a.m. Discipleship/Worship Hour the children will gather in the Children's Basement for a fun and engaging time of fellowship and worship. They will then head to their classroom for small group engagement.
Third Grade Bible Presentation
On Sunday, August 18 Third Graders have an opportunity to be presented with an Adventure Bible! This Bible is an easy-to-read, colorful New International Version filled with educational features and illustrations geared toward childen ages 9-12 years old.
Chapelwood Children is excited to gift the children with this foundational tool of our faith. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up early to reserve your preferred worship time for this very special event!
Worship Opportunity for Third Graders
8:30 a.m. | 9:45 a.m. | 11:15 a.m.
Third Graders are offered an extraordinary opportunity. On the second Sunday of each month, they are invited to read scripture during all three worship services! Our hope is to recognize how the children are growing in their faith and encourage them as they learn to serve their church.
