“A baby is God’s opinion that the world should go on.” ~ Carl Sandburg

Babies in the infant class range from 6 weeks to 12 months of age. This warm, nurturing and loving environment has a child-to-staff ratio of at least 4:1, with the hopes of 3:1. Teachers in the infant room implement and utilize the Innovations curriculum by Kay Albrecht and Linda G. Miller. Every minute of the day plays a part in the overall infant class experience. Diapering, feeding, washing, and comforting are integral elements in this class.  Music is played throughout the day and frequent strolls around the school’s outdoor sidewalks and playground add to the babies’ routine. Every opportunity is provided for the infants to safely interact together, as well as with materials and toys that encourage both motor and cognitive development. Daily communication is provided and sent home each day for the families of babies in the infant room.

Children remain in the infant room until they are ready to move on to the next stage, at which point they transition into the toddler classroom.
