Job Summary

All Chapelwood staff members covenant to live by the Staff Values Covenant, which is formulated in the classic Wesleyan format of “do no harm,” “do good,” and “stay in love with God.”

 The Associate Director of Children’s Ministries, Preschool, is responsible to nurture all ministries serving children of Chapelwood.  This person’s emphasis will be on the 3-5 year old children and their families.  This position will coordinate the Preschool activities of the church, and work with all other members of the Children’s Ministry team to provide the best spiritual formation for children possible.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – Nursery- PreK Ministries

  1. Adhere to Chapelwood's Equipping Staff "Values" and "Responsibilities" Covenants.  The "Values Covenant" covers expected behaviors. The "Responsibilities Covenant" provides a list of meetings and other staff responsibilities. 
  2. Visioning and programming of all ministries serving children in Preschool, PreK 
  3. Select and manage preparation of curriculum for PreK programs
  4. Assist in Safe Sanctuary program - volunteer application and training
  5. Lead and equip volunteers serving the Early Childhood Ministries (Core Team & Board members)
  6. Participate & lend support as needed for Chapelwood Special Events 
  7. Assist with chapel for the day school 
  8. Administrative Tasks 

o   Communicate weekly with Preschool Volunteers via email, phone and notes

o   Coordinate the input of Preschool Facilities needs into EMS Calendar 

 OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Participation in church-wide "all hands on deck special events" 
  2. Attend annual equipping staff retreat - 2 day
  3. Work cooperatively with other Children’s Ministry staff to support all CM ministry efforts
  4. Attend the 8:30 a.m. Family worship service
  5. Administer the Baptism Ministry of Chapelwood
  6. Edit and Manage the Chapelwood Children Website

Compensation

Chapelwood offers a competitive compensation hourly rate to commensurate with education and work experience. Particulars of compensation will be worked out with the successful candidate upon satisfactory completion of financial and criminal background checks.
