Position Overview

Responsible for the bookstore and coffeeshop. Support of the Chapelwood mission, vision and values for ministry is needed for this position.  Ideal candidate demonstrates a desire for spiritual growth in their Christian faith, and a commitment to active participation in worship.

Specific Skills, Gifts, and Talents Needed

To support the mission and ministry of Chapelwood United Methodist Church.

  •      Able to resolve complaints and problems as they arise from customers
  •      Ability and/or willingness to learn coffee making procedures
  •      Ability to work on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings
  •      Ability to work unsupervised
  •      Previous retail experience is a plus

Responsibilities & Major Duties:

  •     Cultivate environment of hospitality and welcome in the bookstore
  •     Exhibit compassion, insight and book knowledge in service to community
  •     Ensure the bookstore is open for regular and special hours of operation.
  •     Cleaning, stocking, presentation and customer service
  •     Abide by the Chapelwood Staff Covenant

Financial Related Responsibilities:

  •      Operate point‐of‐sale system to enhance customer service
  •      Maintain storage of all inventory and display equipment

This position is a Parttime:  Wednesdays, either 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., or 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. / Saturdays, 4:30-7:30 p.m. / Sundays,  8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
