Job Summary

The Hospitality and Outreach Assistant is responsible for identifying and implementing best practices in the area of hospitality and outreach. This person will work closely with the director of hospitality and outreach and other ministry area leaders to identify and execute specific opportunities to reach three specific demographics: those who are casually connected to Chapelwood, those who are not yet connected to Chapelwood, and those who were recently but now no longer connected to Chapelwood.  The H&O ministry will take lead on developing a comprehensive vision for Chapelwood’s Hospitality team that would include recruiting and equipping additional lay leaders to serve.  

Multiple people will be hired to cover several positions in this area.  Various shifts are available.  Must be willing to work with children and possibly work on Sundays.

Essential functions:

  • Answer all incoming phone calls to the main Chapelwood phone number.
  • Help caller directly when possible, or direct them to the correct person.
  • Answer emails sent to get connected form, or texting program.
  • Have knowledge of all staff, ministries, groups, and events on campus.
  • Follow up on any phone calls, or messages as needed.
  • Have knowledge of Bookstore operations, P&L, ordering, etc.

  1.  Excellent written and verbal communication.
  2. Friendly, helpful and outgoing.
  3. Willingness to reach out to strangers.
  4. Excellent organizational skills.

 Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 15 pounds.  The job will require stretches of standing combined with longer stretches of sitting.

Education and Experience

An ideal candidate will have:

  1.      A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  2.      Three to five years of experience preferred.

Chapelwood offers a competitive hourly wage commensurate with education and work experience. Particulars of compensation will be worked out with the successful candidate upon satisfactory completion of financial and criminal background checks.
