Chapelwood's Board of Stewards is the top-level governing body of the church and is comprised of lay leaders and staff from every ministry and worship community. It is charged with overseeing all aspects of ministry, including mission and vision achievement as well as managing financial, facility, and staff resources.

The Chair of the Board of Stewards is a lay person who has actively participated in one or more of the standing committees for several years. The standing committees are the Staff-Parish Relations Committee, the Trustees, and the Finance Committee.

The Chair leads the Board meetings, and typically the chairs or representatives from standing committees give their reports. These reports are followed by a report from the Senior Pastor, who leaves time for questions from the floor. Occasionally, there will be a focused report on a particularly relevant ministry, like Harvey Recovery for example.

All members of Chapelwood are invited to attend Board of Stewards meetings which are held four times each fiscal year.
