Summer 2022

Camp Chapelwood 2022 is full, but make plans for 2023!

Camp Chapelwood is a four week summer camp in June for children five years old through fifth grade, and is open to both church members and community friends.  Campers may choose which weeks to attend ~ they can come one week or all four.  At each weekly session, campers participate in a variety of activities where they can learn new skills and develop new interests.  These include gymnastics, self-defense class, crafts, games, science, cooking and presentations by educational and/or entertaining speakers and groups ~ from theatre performances to bike stunt teams, magicians, authors, science discovery programs, building with legos and more.  All activities are led by adult counselors, who are assisted by high school and college students.

All registrations, correspondence, telephone calls, questions and requests for information should be directed to Susan Finnell at (713) 354-4453 or [email protected]

General Camp Information

  • Campers must be five (5) years old by the day they start Camp.
  • Children will be grouped according to their school grade as of September 2022.
  • The daily camp schedule is 9:00 a.m. - 1:45 p.m, Monday through Thursday. Groups rotate among a variety of activities daily.
  • There are 4 separate weeks of camp: June 6-9; June 13-16; June 20-23; June 27-30.
  • Camp drop off and pick up is on the North side of the Williams Building.  It is very helpful to display a sign with your child's first name in your windshield to help drop-off and pick-up run smoothly.
  • A late fee will be charged for each camper picked up late ($5 for every 15 minutes).  We appreciate your promptness!
  • Lunches should be sent in plastic or paper throwaway bags with disposable drinks.  Please do not send lunch kits to Camp.
  • Comfortable shorts and t-shirts are best at Camp, clothing that won't be ruined by camp fun!  Tennis shoes and socks are required for all campers. Please, no open toe shoes (sandals, flipflops, etc.)
  • All items sent to Camp should be labeled with camper's first and last name (bags, hats, lunches, swim suits, clothing, equipment).
