Renowned psychologist, Louise J. Kaplan once said, "Adolescence is an inner emotional upheaval, a struggle between the eternal human wish to cling to the past and the equally powerful wish to get on with the future." Suffice it to say, adolescence is the grey area between childhood and naivety and adulthood and responsibility. It's a time in our lives where we grow in body, mind, and spirit. In our world today, innocence is challenged at a very young age and it's our job as parents and partners in faith to equip each other with the social-emotional knowledge that is needed while our children transition into adolescence. Changes include but are not limited to physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, relational, and sexual. Chapelwood Children wants to help you and your child navigate these new and at times difficult changes.
We will host a special online program to help facilitate some of the complicated conversations that happen around the topics of tweens, faith, and human sexuality. You'll hear from experts in the field, some of our Pastors here at Chapelwood, and most importantly from your children. This online program is available year round.
An in person class will be held, Sepetmber 10, 2022, 9 AM - 2 PM, in the Children's Basement.
Parents are required to attend a pre-event meeting the Tuesday before the class, as well as the last hour of the class on Saturday. Lunch is provided for registrants.
The cost is $50/child and $20 for an additonal child in the family.
The cost of registration is $16 and the starter kit includes one parent and one child book, as well as a workbook and misc. items. This is the online program that is offered year round.
