Chapelwood's mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by embodying God's grace as we receive it to those who need it.
We start with our identity. It is important for us to remember who we are. We are Christ-followers. We are disciples. We live out our discipleship as Methodists. This impacts the way we understand Jesus, the world, and how we do ministry in the world.
Methodist Christ-followers believe in the life-changing power of God’s grace. We hold a high view of scripture. We believe our faith must be at work in the world. And we believe everyone has a seat at the Table of God. This is reflected in the ways we speak, teach, and live. At Chapelwood, we are a church that “embodies grace as we receive it to those who need it.” And everyone needs it.
We are United Methodist, but we are Christians first, last, and always. We are Christians who live out our faith through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ who work to transform the world for Christ
Core values are those values we hold that form the foundation on which we perform our actions and live into our calling. There are many values we hold dear, but some are so primary that they must be intentionally lifted up to guide all we do. They are not strategies to employ or ways we accomplish our mission. Rather, these ten core values underlie our work, influence the ways we interact with each other, and guide us to discern which strategies we employ to fulfill God's mission for our church. They underlie everything we do.Learn More About Our Core Values
