Make it your New Year’s resolution to finally get your affairs in order with a faith-focused workshop on Death and Dying Well.

It is hard making decisions about life and death, and it is uncomfortable having conversations with family about your wishes in death, but what if you had help, wisdom, and insight? Make it your New Year’s resolution to finally get your affairs in order with a workshop on Dying Well.

Our 4-hour workshop is offered by Chapelwood Clergy and Chapelwood member Derry Essary and will walk you through:

  1. The documents you need to have drawn up before you die
  2. Important information to assist your family
  3. Deciding on cremation or burial
  4. Lining up funeral services (or not)
  5. Writing your obituary
  6. Wisdom gleaned through years of helping people
  7. Theological reflection
  8. The components of a memorial service
  9. Guidance for planning your own service
  10. Leaving a Legacy

You will go away with a notebook (and/or digital files) of worksheets where you can organize and keep your important documents.

Derry has years of experience and education in all levels of the funeral industry. While he did not pursue funeral services as his career path, his heart is burdened to help his church family make wise decisions, save money, and close out this life with intention and organization.

Refreshments and lunch will be served.
