Holy Week marks a sacred time when we travel with Jesus from his triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, to the Last Supper with his disciples, and his arrest, trial, and crucifixion. As we make this journey together, we experience anew the sacrificial love and suffering of our Lord.
Passion/Palm Sunday ushers in the sacred time in the Church known as Holy Week. It commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem as the crowds line the streets waving palm branches and shouting, “Hosanna, blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!”
James Kelly and the band will lead worship at 8:30 and 9:45 a.m. The 11:15 a.m. service will feature a procession of the palms, a performance by the Children’s Bells and the Children’s Choir, and choral music on piano and organ with Cameron Cody and the Chancel Choir.
Dr. John Stephens will explore what it means to perceive God, from our Lent sermon series Sensing God, and examine the Parable of the Sower and the purpose of parables, from the book of Mark.
The services will end with a view to the passion of Jesus, providing a powerful segue to our remaining Holy Week observances at Chapelwood.
Watch live online at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
