Did you know that bees are some of the hardest workers on the planet? Did you know that they are an crucial piece of a balanced ecology?
Come learn about the important work of bee keeping – both as an art and a science – as we tour Texas Bee Supply in Dayton. We will learn about how bees make honey, view a hive and queen bee, and taste a variety of honey. There will also be time to peruse the farm’s shop. Lunch at a restaurant TBD will follow.
Cost: The tour is free, but you will need to pay for your own lunch and bring a tip for our bus driver.
Itinerary: Meet in Parking Lot B at 8:30 a.m. and leave by 8:45 a.m. We will travel on the Harris County Precinct Bus and travel to Texas Bee Supply in Dayton for a 10:00 a.m. tour. We will eat lunch on the way home and return to Chapelwood by 3:00 p.m.
What to wear: Comfortable clothes and shoes appropriate for the weather. Since we will be near bees, you might want to wear a light long-sleeved shirt.
What to bring: hat, sunglasses, any comfort items for the bus such as a sweater, coffee cup with a lid
Water and snack bars will be provided. And remember that your friends are always welcome!
