We at Chapelwood have a heart for those affected by memory loss. The Gathering Place is a partnership with Interfaith Care Partners, Inc. that ministers to the caregiver, the care receiver, and the volunteer.
The Gathering Place is a time of respite for caregivers to take care of themselves and the business of life. The care receiver enjoys a morning of music, chair exercise, entertainment, dancing, crafts, BINGO, a hot lunch, and conversation in a gentle, loving environment. It is like a party every month!
We meet mid-morning to early afternoon on the first Monday of most months. This service is free and is an incredible opportunity in our community. If you know of someone who would benefit from this time, call or email Rev. Rachel Sciretti. Caregivers can also contact Care Partners directly to begin the registration process.
This is a volunteer, lay-led ministry. If you have a heart for ministry with senior adults and want to join the ministry team, contact Rachel. You will need to complete our “Safe Sanctuaries” training as well as the application process set up by Care Partners.
