Hurricane Ida and Nicholas

When disaster hits anywhere, Chapelwood faithfully responds in a variety of ways:

  • By assembling health kits, school kits and cleaning bucket supplies which are forwarded to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) for national disaster relief.  Kits are also used for local emergency response programs.
  • Provide meals, prayer, hospitality and communication to our neighbors affected by the disaster
  • Clear trees to homes in need as identified by Houston Emergency Management

Afghanistan Refugees

Due to the crisis in Afghanistan, Houston will receive approximately 1,500-2,000 refugees.

The current need is financial support for the refugee families for food, clothing, housing and medical care. In the future, we will have a donation drive at the church and an opportunity to sponsor an Afghan family as they acclimate to Houston.
