Executing God: Rethinking Everything You’ve Been Taught About Salvation and the Cross

by Sharon L. Baker

Why did Jesus have to die?  What does blood have to do with salvation?  Why do I have to forgive my brother and sister, but God requires a sacrifice before forgiving?

For centuries Biblical scholars and believers alike have tried to explain the work of the cross.  If you have struggled to understand the “whys” surrounding the suffering and death of Jesus, you may enjoy this class.

Join Rev. Tammy Heinrich for this six-week book study as we unpack what’s known in the church as “atonement theory.”  The point our of time together will not be to deny or dispute the crucifixion as an essential part of the Christian faith.  Rather, we will travel deep and wide to better embrace the Christ event and experience a new intimacy with Jesus and one another.

Obtaining a copy of the book may be helpful but is not mandatory.

Offered in-person in LC 211-212 or on zoom.  (You will receive a zoom link when you register for the class.)
