“Holy Spirit Power: The Acts of the Apostles”

The Christian Church traces its birth to the day of Pentecost – when the gift of the Holy Spirit was given to the disciples and other believers gathered in Jerusalem. The city was swarming with thousands of Jews who travelled from all over the world for the annual celebration of the Festival of Weeks. Their witness of the Holy Spirit descending upon the disciples like “tongues of fire” and hearing of the Gospel in their native language would forever change the course of history!

And yet …

  • What drove the Disciples to stand firm in the midst of widespread persecution?
  • How is it that the Gospel spread from Jerusalem to Syria, Galatia, Macedonia, modern-day Turkey, and beyond?
  • Was there peace and harmony in the ancient Church, or disagreements and discord?
  • How did Jewish and Gentile Christians overcome their religious and cultural differences?
  • What compelled Saul of Tarsus, chief persecutor of the Church, to become its chief Apostle?
  • And what does all of this mean for believers today?

Join Rev. Tammy Heinrich for this year-long study at our Greenbay campus as we explore together the Acts of the Apostles.  The style of the class is lecture format, with plenty of opportunities for questions and lively discussion.

The class will begin on Monday, Sept 9, and continue weekly (with some time off during holidays) through May 19.  Classes are on hiatus for the holidays and will resume on January 13. The course will be offered in-person and by zoom and recorded each week for those who miss a session.

SUMMER STUDY: “What Happens Next?

There are plenty of images in our Christian culture about heaven – a city in the clouds, pearly gates, streets made of gold, a mansion in the sky – as well as hell – the devil with a pitchfork, unquenchable fire, weeping and gnashing of teethBut what does the Bible say about death and the afterlifeWhat are the different words used for “heaven” and “hell” that are spoken by Jesus and written by Paul in the New Testament? Who’s in and who’s outAnd why does it matter?

Join Rev. Tammy Heinrich for this four-week study in fellowship with our Fair Haven community at our Gessner Road campus as we explore a confusing and intriguing topicWe will use the Bible and “Death and the Afterlife in the New Testament” by the Rev.
