Everyone! Say hello to the Cope Family, Ed, Sarah, George, and Grace! The Cope Family have been attending Chapelwood for about eight months, not too long but long enough to call Chapelwood their church home. Ed and Sarah were looking for a place for their children to grow in their relationship with Christ, somewhere to feel comfortable and enjoy attending Sunday School. They decided to try Chapelwood at the recommendation of their neighbors Kathy and Chap Jacobson and Susan Forney as well as some families in George’s Cub Scout den. We couldn’t be happier of their decision, they chose us! Very heart-warming 😊
What is so special about Ed and Sarah is that they hopped right into volunteering in George and Grace’s Sunday School classes. Sarah stepped in first as Grace was a bit nervous but once she started feeling comfortable Ed joined in on the fun. When asked what they like about Children’s Discipleship at Chapelwood this is what they had to say, “We appreciate how welcoming everyone is. A few weeks after George started attending the 3rd grade class, he told us that he didn’t want to miss class the following week. This was a HUGE change from a boy who previously moaned and groaned every time we told him it was time to go to church.”
Other than our amazing children’s program, one of the things that keeps them coming back to Chapelwood is our use of technology. Ed has stated how impressed he was when he discovered how easy it is to find information and stay informed about what is happening at the church. Props to Creative Arts and Production!
In the future Ed and Sarah hope to become more involved in activities outside of the Sunday School morning routine, such as service projects. “Living in the Memorial Villages area, it’s easy for kids to become isolated and insulated from the bigger world around us and to miss out on some aspects of what it means to be a disciple of Christ.” Thank you, Ed and Sarah, for being the hands and feet of our kiddos! We are lucky to have you. #raisingagenerationinfaith #wearechapelwood #shoutoutwednesday
